Scouting Report

OVERVIEW
His skills give him the tag of a dual guard, something he developed during his second season with Virginia Tech.
He averaged a team-best 16.2 points per game on a team that reached the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 round.
He had been mostly an off-the-ball guard until teammate Justin Robinson's injury that resulted in an extended absence. So that gave Alexander-Walker a chance to expand his skills and the reports were largely strong about what he was able to do with the ball in his possession more often.
That role helped increase his reputation as a heady player, so suddenly he's viewed as a better option because of his versatility.
That gave scouts a chance to see him in multiple situations, and the Hokies generally excelled at times largely because of his contributions.
ANALYSIS
Some scouts see Alexander-Walker as a natural scorer and he's able to pick his spots well.
While his role as a point guard helped in some areas, it might have stunted some of his growth in terms of evaluating how he can find scoring avenues as an off guard.
He could stand to pack on some more pounds in order to better handle the grind of an NBA season. He's listed at 6-foot-5 but he doesn't always appear that tall because of his style of play.
He might have been passive in leadership at times in college, but when he became the primary point guard for several weeks that forced him to be more expressive.
Projection: Late first round
