Scouting Report

40 time: 5.15

Projection: Third Round

Overview: Underrecruited coming out of high school, receiving no FBS offers. Garnered little attention during his first two years at Southern Utah but was named all-conference in both 2019 and the FCS 2021 spring season. Managed to get on the NFL radar his senior year thanks to his excellent measurables and athleticism. Upside makes him an interesting project player going forward.

Strengths: Nimble mover who can hit reach blocks and make it to tough angles. Possesses excellent length and knows how to use it. Plays with basketball feet. Can make near instant lateral adjustments to stay in front of his target. Keeps legs driving to the whistle and finishes plays consistently.

Weaknesses: Not much knockout power, reliant on his technique to win in the run game. May take a year or two to unlock his physical tools. Occasional lapses of balance and control are usually caused by head ducking.

Pro Comp: Michael Schofield, Los Angeles Chargers -- Schofield's prototypical size and length helped him start consistently over seven years in the NFL, but his anchoring and upper body strength got him into trouble at times in college. Jones is even longer and has better upside as an NFL tackle.
