Snapshot: Teams won't be doubting Crum's intelligence. The aerospace engineering major put together a strong showing throughout his three years as a starter for the Golden Flashes. He emerged on the radar of draftniks with a 20:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio as a junior in 2019. He continued his productive pace throughout 2020 and 2021, winning through the air and on the ground. He earned an invite to the East-West Shrine Bowl and will get his fair share of looks from teams after passing for 7,417 yards and 55 touchdowns, with just 12 interceptions, in college.

Strengths: Physical runner who can pick up first downs with his legs. Good feel for pressure and knows when to bail the pocket. Rarely flustered when pressured, and he plays with quality composure. Consistently avoided turnovers during his time at Kent State.

Weaknesses: Slow footwork that is late to settle. Overall urgency with setup and release is poor by NFL standards. Has a clunky release that changes from throw to throw and causes problems with accuracy. Lacks the size or agility to convert positions. Timing and ability to process info downfield are both lacking. Is regularly out of sync with his receivers; misplaced throws are a constant. Modest arm strength. Scattershot deep and intermediate passer.

Pro comparison: Nathan Rourke, BC Lions (CFL) -- Rourke tore up the MAC during his college days, but his NFL opportunity came as a tryout wide receiver. After being unable to receive a contract, he moved on to play in the Canadian Football League. Crum will have to overcome some notable limitations to make it as an NFL quarterback but, if that fails, he might get a chance in a different league.
