Snapshot: Eleby's performance in his sophomore year -- third nationally in passing efficiency with a 195.1 rating -- led to buzz heading into 2021, when he passed for 3,277 yards and 23 TDs. He was largely expected to return to school in 2022, but the departure of receiver Skyy Moore likely played a role in his exit. Eleby is interesting in his own right. He played half the year in 2018 as an injury replacement and redshirted in 2019 before starting in the shortened 2020 campaign. Over his two years as a primary starter he threw for 41 touchdowns with only eight interceptions.

Strengths: Frame is dense and compact, and he should be able to handle NFL punishment. Keeps his eyes downfield when bailing the pocket. Sees the field well and works through his progressions efficiently. Showcases impressive touch on downfield throws and knows how to change trajectories over defenders. Able to generate adequate velocity for attacking the middle of the field and driving throws through traffic.

Weaknesses: Lacks ideal height. Setup and release quickness is poor, and he struggles to quickly adjust and get the ball out. Limited athlete who will struggle to make plays outside of structure. Ball placement takes a dive when he has to work to the far side of the field. Arm adjustability and accuracy under pressure are worrisome.

Pro comparison: Nathan Peterman, free agent -- Peterman's processing ability and flashes of winning within structure led to being drafted, but his inability to win under duress led to failure when put into action. Eleby faces similar concerns about winning when things break down, but, as a late-round flier, he has the touch and eyes to compete for a backup role by his second season.
