Scouting Report |
40 time: 4.92 Projection: Second-Third Round Overview: Austrian wrestler started playing football after arriving in the United States as a foreign exchange student. Only other FBS offer coming out of high school as a tight end was Eastern Michigan, but the 240 pounder managed to start four games for the Chippewas as a true freshman. He made the transition to left tackle after starting two years at tight end, growing to over 290 pounds and taking over the starting job in a COVID shortened campaign. He's a rising player with the athletic tools that coaches and scouts alike will be swooning over, although he'll need some extra seasoning as he transitions to the NFL trenches. Strengths: Good leverage relative to his size, easy knee bender who could draw interest as a guard convert given his physical makeup. Easy mover who reaches the second level without strain. Violent finishing ability if he gets defenders off balance. Recovery speed and first step jump off the tape. Tremendously raw, will likely continue developing for years to come. Weaknesses: Can be late to recognize and adjust to blitzers. Mental processing and overall awareness isn't NFL level yet. Length is below average for a tackle and makes it harder to steer defenders once he engages with them. Pro Comp: Garett Bolles, Denver Broncos -- Bolles was an older prospect who still needed to get stronger and more technically polished, but his athleticism and balance helped make the difference. Raimann is less lengthy, but teams who were willing to overlook Bolles' age and polish in favor of the developmental athlete. |
