Scouting Report

40 time: 5.14

Projection: Seventh Round

Overview: One of the biggest surprise declarations, leaving for the NFL as a redshirt junior with only 20 starts in college. Redshirted, then saw usage at both tackle and guard during his redshirt freshman campaign before taking over as a starter in 2020, using his length and size reasonably well.

Strengths: Plays with a wide base and won't narrow up on initial contact. Patient with his punch and won't fire hands too early. Good coordination between hands and feet. Hands are active and he works hard to replace them if he loses his control. Adequate closing speed to reach the second level and make contact. Athleticism is sufficient for the NFL.

Weaknesses: Frame isn't filled out and he's a bit thin for a typical tackle prospect. Too easily overwhelmed by length and strength. Light lower half makes it harder for him to reset his feet and anchor down. Lacks the mass and power teams will want at guard. Will struggle to put defenders off balance and finish them in the run game.

Pro Comp: Cole Boozer, Retired -- Boozer's lack of size and raw technique made the transition to the NFL difficult for him, but his athleticism bought him time as a pro. Anderson is further along in the development but could face similar issues.
