Scouting Report

40 time: 5.10

Projection: Second-Third Round

Overview: Despite prepping in Monroe, snuck under the nose of the Louisiana-Monroe recruiters and ended up at the rival Ragin' Cajuns. Quickly broke into the lineup as a true sophomore, playing a key role for one of the best rushing attacks in the nation. Finished as a three-year starter with multiple All-Sun Belt honors. Earned an invite to the Senior Bowl and held up well against the higher level of competition. Not the most physically impressive player but should be able to translate quickly to the NFL as a backup with the tools to start within a year or two.

Strengths: Incredibly easy mover who can hunt down linebackers and defensive backs. Great athletic ability flashes with his pass sets. Able to keep all his parts working in pass protection. Strong finisher in the run game when he gets rolling. Excellent quickness with both his feet and hand usage. Able to swing his hips around and angle himself effectively as a run blocker.

Weaknesses: Lower weight is going to cause issues. Average length by the standards of an NFL tackle. Can get shocked by power at times. More of a bull rider than someone who will control the path defenders have to take. Frame looks mostly maxed out.

Pro Comp: Connor Williams, Dallas Cowboys -- Mitchell's average length and size won't be a fit for every team on the outside but he's an NFL athlete with the type of athleticism and technique that will entice on day two.
