Wales center Davies to miss Six Nations after knee surgery

CARDIFF, Wales (AP) Wales center Jonathan Davies will miss the entire Six Nations rugby tournament after being ruled out for at least six months while he recovers from knee surgery.

Davies hurt his left knee in a pool game against Fiji at the recent Rugby World Cup, forcing him out of the quarterfinal win over France. But he returned to play in the losses to South Africa in the semifinals and New Zealand in the bronze-medal match with a heavily bandaged knee.

The timescale for Davies' return after surgery means he might miss the remainder of the season for his region, the Scarlets, who play in the Pro14 league.
