Career Highlights:

Currier took his qualification for the Olympic team to the wire, earning it with two top-30 finishes in the final World Cup event before the squad was announced. As the top American over that final weekend, Currier gained his first trip to the Olympic Games. It marked a triumphant moment for a biathlete who showed tremendous potential with a pair of sixth-place finishes in World Cup events in 2011-12. With expectations higher, Currier faltered at the world championships in 2012 and 2013, failing to gain a finish higher than 44th place. He found his form in the end in joining teenage sensation Sean Doherty in outdueling three-time Olympian Jeremy Teela and Casey Smith for the final two spots. A biathlete from the age of 14, Currier is known for his speed and may be the fastest skier on the team. He’s a longshot to medal but has enough talent for a possible top-10 finish if he is on target with his gun.
