Career Highlights:

The inspirational story of Barnes' addition to the biathlon team is well documented by now. Her twin sister, Tracy, qualified for Sochi but Lanny missed the final qualifying races due to illness and failed to make the cut. The sisters then shared a magical moment on a walk in the Italian Alps as Tracy told her sister to take her spot in a move that exemplified the true meaning of Olympic spirit. The story landed the twins on the 'Today' show as well as numerous other high-profile programs. It has been a grueling 12 months for the twins, who held fundraisers in their Durango, Colorado community for money for their qualifying bids. Both also underwent surgery for compartment syndrome last February. Lanny will make her third Olympic appearance - and second in a row without her sister after the twins both took part in Turin. Lanny finished 64th in the individual event in Turin but improved to 23rd in Vancouver for the best mark by an American woman in 16 years. Her best finish at the world championships was a 37th-place showing in the individual event in 2012.
