Studebaker will make her second straight Olympic appearance after she took part in four events in Vancouver, finishing 34th in the individual event for her best finish at those Games. Studebaker has competed at the last three world championships beginning in 2011, with her 17th-place showing in the individual event there remaining her best mark. She’s a graduate of Dartmouth, which won its first skiing national championship in 31 years during her time in school. Like many Americans, she was originally a skier and was introduced to the biathlon by Eric Reynolds, a 1998 Olympian. She credits wilderness shooting sessions with Reynolds in her native Idaho for making her more precise with a rifle. Studebaker began training with the U.S. biathlon team in 2007.
