Career Highlights:

Butner heads to Sochi as one of the United States' three drivers in the two-man event. He is 13th in the combined international standings, fifth in two-man while just missing qualifying in four-man after finishing 19th. Butner has won a pair of bronze medals in the two-man on the 2013-14 World Cup tour, his first full season on the circuit. That comes after he twice captured silver in the 2012-13 season in the two-man. However, he has never finished higher than fifth on the World Cup tour on a European track. Butner began the sport of bobsledding in April 2007 after being selected for a recruiting camp in Lake Placid, N.Y. After competing as a push athlete for two seasons and helping John Napier to the 2009 national championship, Butner made the switch to driver in 2009-10 and battled teammate Nick Cunningham for the 2012 America's Cup title. Butner graduated from U.C. Riverside in 2005 with a B.S. in Statistics.
