Career Highlights:

Cook heads to Sochi as one of the veteran leaders for the U.S. freestyle team after competing at both the Turin and Vancouver Games. Now 34 years old, she has been a member of the U.S. Ski Team for 16 years. She also qualified for Salt Lake City in 2002, but missed those Olympics - and two subsequent World Cup seasons - while recovering from injuries to her ankles and feet. Cook finished 19th in aerials at the 2006 Games, improving on that four years later with an 11th-place finish. She is a six-time U.S. champion, has nine World Cup podiums in her career and comes off a 2013 World Cup season in which she ranked second in the overall standings. Cook followed her gold medal at last year’s U.S. nationals with a strong start to this year's World Cup schedule. She has been in the top 10 in four of five events, including a pair of fifth-place finishes on Dec. 21 and Jan. 18. In her spare time, Cook serves on the board of the Speedy Foundation, which is dedicated to studying mental illness and combating suicide in memory of her former teammate Jeret “Speedy” Peterson, who won silver in aerials in Vancouver before taking his own life one year later.
