Career Highlights:

Coming from a family with three sibling racers, Ford’s skiing roots date to the age of three, were groomed with the U.S. Development Team and reached the level of World Cup competition in 2010. She scored her first World Cup points in 2012 with a 22nd-place finish in the downhill but had her progress slowed some during the 2013 season because of a concussion, which threw into question her chances for Sochi with the U.S. speed team. She began to regain her form in late spring, and now heads to the 2014 Games for her first major championship experience at the elite level. Ford’s best World Cup result came two months before the games in December, placing 21st in the downhill. Along her ascent, Ford has enjoyed plenty of success on home soil. In downhill, Ford won back-to-back titles at the U.S. championships in 2011 and 2012. She topped the 2012 NorAm Cup overall and downhill standings after winning downhill, super-G and super-combined in 2011 on her way to a third straight second-place finish in the overall standings.
