Bozek will be making her Olympic debut in Sochi but has participated in two world championships, winning gold in 2013 and silver in 2012. At the 2013 First Nations Cup, Bozek placed first in the tournament with five assists and second with six points. She capped a very successful career at the University of Minnesota with a second straight national championship in 2012-13. One of three finalists for the Patty Kazmaier Award as a senior, Bozek set a school defenseman record with 57 points and was a plus-61. She was named WCHA Defensive Player of the Year and was also an All-America first-team selection. As a junior, she ranked second in the nation in points by a defenseman with 42. She finished her college career with 47 goals and 146 points in 157 games. Bozek helped the United States win gold in the 2009 U18 world championship and is a three-time USA Hockey National Festival participant. She served as alternate captain for the Chicago Mission U19 of the Midwest Elite Hockey League in 2008 and recorded 77 points in 66 games to help her team win the national championship.
