Making her Olympic debut, Pucci is one of the team's top young talents who will be counted on to defend the United States' zone and provide some offense if needed in Sochi. Since joining the national program as part of the Under-22 team in 2010, Pucci has recorded four goals and 15 assists in 40 games for Team USA. She earned one of those assists through the first five games for the national team during the 2013-14 warm-up to Sochi. She scored three goals and added three assists in five games at the 2012 International Ice Hockey Federation women's world championships. A year earlier, she led all defensemen with nine assists in seven games at the Twelve Nations Invitational. Pucci is playing for U.S. coach Katey Stone, who also was her coach at Harvard. She was named a captain for last season's Crimson squad but withdrew from the university because of a concussion and remains out while playing for the national team. During her sophomore season at Harvard in 2010-11, Pucci ranked sixth in the nation among defensemen with 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists).
