Outtrim comes into her first Olympics riding a wave of momentum that she hopes will peak on the Sochi course. She has improved on a slow start to the World Cup season with three top-10 finishes in her last three events. A native New Englander and veteran of the freestyle program at Vermont's Mount Snow, the moguls skier enjoyed great success on the World Cup circuit last season, finishing on the podium four times and ending the season fourth in the FIS standings. Outtrim boasts seven victories among her 14 podium finishes in NorAm competitions and also placed third at the U.S. championships in 2013. She won the dual moguls crown at the 2011 national championships and a silver in the same event one year later. Before that, she won a pair of silvers in dual and singles moguls at nationals in 2010. For all that individual success, however, Outtrim said the favorite moment of her career was when she finished third at a World Cup event in Utah last January. That bronze allowed the U.S. to sweep that podium, where teammates Hannah Kearney and Heather McPhie stood with her.
