Career Highlights:

Herman makes her Olympic debut as a strong contender to win a medal in slopestyle. She played ice hockey all the way through high school before taking up competitive freeskiing when she headed west to attend the University of Denver. She had an impressive debut in 2010, winning silver medals at the Winter X Games and at Euro X. She also won a slopestyle silver on the Dew Tour and was second overall in the AFP rankings that year. She came out strong again in 2011 with another silver at Winter X, a bronze in the inaugural women’s slopestyle event at the world championships and another second-place finish in the AFP rankings. In 2012, she dipped to third in the AFP standings but was consistently among the top five in a majority of her competitions. She won the U.S. Grand Prix and became the first American woman to win the World Cup slopestyle crown in 2013. Herman won her most recent World Cup event Jan. 10.
