Career Highlights:

Florschuetz paired with brakeman Richard Adjei to win a silver medal in his Olympic debut in the two-man event in 2010, but his four-man team finished fourth. He has won five medals at the world championships, taking gold in the mixed-team in 2009, silvers in the two-man in 2008, 2009 and 2011 and bronze in 2013. Florschuetz won a pair of bronze medals in the four-man during the 2013-14 World Cup season while his best finish in the two-man was fourth. He finished second in the 2008-09 World Cup standings as a two-man pilot. His older brother, Andre, is a three-time world luge champion who won a silver medal at the 2006 Olympics in men's doubles. Florschuetz began his athletic career as a luger before permanently switching to bobsled in 2001. He trains twice a day, six days a week, totaling roughly seven hours per day.
