Career Highlights:

The combination of innate driving ability and elite German equipment makes Arndt one to watch in Sochi. Typically at his best on the tracks in Europe, Arndt piloted his four-man team to World Cup gold medals in his native Germany on January 4 and 5. He captured a bronze medal a week later and finished sixth Jan. 19. Arndt won the overall yearlong points title, edging out American Steven Holcomb. Those performances bode well for Arndt, who appears to be completely healed from torn ankle ligaments suffered in October. A four-man world championship in 2013 capped Arndt's relatively quick rise in the sport. He won a four-man silver medal in the 2012 worlds and a bronze in the two-man. Widely considered the top junior driver in the world while the top circuit was preparing for the 2010 Olympics, Arndt, who began as a luger, represents the future of German bobsledding. He won gold in the four-man at the 2012 European championships.
