Career Highlights:

Zubkov will represent his home country in February with quite the Olympic resume. Sochi will mark his fifth appearance at the Winter Games and fourth straight competing in the bobsled after he switched over from luge following a 20th-place finish at Nagano in 1998. He appeared on the medal stand in each of the last two Olympics, earning silver in the four-man event in 2006 and bronze in the two-man in 2010. In his initial Olympic bobsledding appearance back in 2002, Zubkov placed 16th in the four-man and 18th in the two-man. He briefly retired from the sport in the summer of 2010, but bounced back to win his third straight World Cup gold medal in the four-man in November 2012. He credits his success to new coach Pierre Lueders, the 1998 Olympic two-man champion who retired after the Vancouver Games four years ago. Although his team finished third in the four-man last February in Sochi as part of a test of the Olympic track, Zubkov won the overall season title. A four-time European champion and Sochi 2014 Ambassador, Zubkov is aiming for two medals at January's world championships at St. Moritz in his final Olympic tune-up.
