Winter Games Athletes
This will be the fourth Olympics for Hefti, who has won a total of three medals - all bronze. His first came in the two-man event in 2002 and two more followed in 2006. He finished sixth in the four-man race in the 2010 Games after he was forced to miss the two-man competition due to a concussion suffered in a crash during a training session. The former sprinter has had a very successful World Cup season in 2013-14, winning consecutive gold medals and setting the season's push record on his home track in St. Moritz on Jan. 11. The first of those wins Jan. 3 ended American Steven Holcomb's seven-race winning streak to start the season. Hefti won three gold medals in the two-man on the 2012-13 World Cup tour and added another in the four-man. He spent two years as a pusher for Marcel Rohner, the 1998 Olympic silver medalist, but his career took off upon joining Martin Annen's team as a brakeman in 2000. The pair won bronze in the two and four-man events at the 2006 world championships in St. Moritz.
