Career Highlights:

Faivre heads to Sochi for her first Olympics as the favorite to take home the first gold medal in the ski halfpipe. The Swiss star comes from a family of skiers and first hit the slopes at the age of two. She started out in Alpine racing and stayed with it for roughly 10 years, then made the switch to freestyle in 2002 after she was introduced to it by friends in Whistler, Canada. She won gold at the 2009 and 2013 world championships but did not place at worlds in 2011. She has been on the podium nine times in her last 14 World Cup events with a pair of victories. Faivre, an avid mountain biker and tennis player in her spare time, is also interested in the freestyle discipline of slopestyle but will concentrate on the halfpipe in Russia.
