Robinson was selected to be a push athlete on the USA-2 four-man sled driven by Nick Cunningham in Sochi. Robinson, who is also a candidate to be a brakeman in the two-man event, is joined on the four-man sled by Justin Olsen and Johnny Quinn. Robinson was told he would be heading to his first Olympics several hours after he helped Cunningham's four-man team finish fourth in a World Cup event Jan. 19. They were seven-hundredths of a second behind the bronze medal time. In only his second season on the national team, Robinson won a silver and a bronze with Cunningham in the two-man during the 2013-14 World Cup tour. He teamed with Cunningham for a pair of gold medals in the 2011-12 America's Cup and also won silver as part of his four-man team. A member of the Army world class athlete program, Robinson ran track at Eastern Kentucky University. He originally hoped to make the 2008 Beijing Olympics as a sprinter but failed.
