Career Highlights:

Teter was still relatively unknown when she burst onto the snowboarding scene with her gold-medal victory in the halfpipe at the 2006 Olympics. She traded in her anonymity with that success, and in the years that have followed she’s become one of the sport's most popular riders. Teter was named USOC SportsWoman of the Year and won an ESPY Award for Best Action Sports Female in 2006. Four years later, she was back competing on the sport’s biggest stage, and just before that, was one of four Americans chosen to model for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in a section devoted to Winter Olympians. In Vancouver, Teter would fall just short of back-to-back golds in the halfpipe, instead taking home silver. Owner of six career World Cup victories, Teter has enjoyed a strong run leading up to the Sochi Games with a second-place finish at the Burton U.S. Open and a pair of top-five showings at the Winter X Games. She also made headlines by saying that she’d support a boycott of the Olympics because of Russia’s law banning public support for homosexuality. Also noted for her charitable work, Teter started Hannah's Gold maple syrup to benefit an impoverished village in Kenya. Ben & Jerry's limited edition flavor "Maple Blondie" was created in her honor, with proceeds going to charity.
